Love...the TRUE currency

After traveling through 3 different time zones and used 3 different forms of Currency. I now have a totally different way at looking at both...ODD that the two things we worry about the most...TIME AND MONEY...truly have no "TRUE" value beyond our contrived conceptions... Worry only about LOVE...giving and receiving it...its the only thing that keeps its value no matter where you are or what you possess...

Crazy Magic in NYC

I recently brought my first couch surfer to Time Square.  They had never been to NYC and were in awe of all the lights, Ads and CRAZY entertainment.  Pretty much any and everyone looking to make a quick buck stood out there dressed in costumes or NOTHING AT ALL (There was an old SKINNY man dressed only in thong underwear, cowboy boots, a green wig and statue of liberty tiara.....yeah...I did NOT take pics...sorry) All the characters vy for the attention of tourists and get paid to take snapshots as keepsakes.  Still reeling over the fact that there is not one but now 3 "Naked Cowboys" (please keep in mind its freezing here in NYC, not sure how they do it)...that's right...3...one for every love-sick girl...we passed one white, the other hablando solamente en espanol and a nice chocolate brother in painted briefs and cowboy hat.  This place has become SUCh a circus hahaha, I love it. 

Anywho, Just before we left Time Square... We experienced a truly GREAT moment...this guy was playing the accordion for tips and this group of teenage girls starting making requests and singing along (pretty well in fact) and all along a guy dressed as the Predator stood next to me dancing along lol LOVE moments like this in the city. Strangers smiling at each other and connecting with positive vibes.

"It's amazing how the weirdest things make perfect sense in a dream world...just woke up after a long journey racing frantically towards an amusement park in search of a restroom for a loved one who was not with me but on the phone and hiding away somewhere in the South Bronx...this made ABSOLUTE sense when I dreamt it, even when I woke up...even as I made my breakfast...but after I sipped my coffee........well....I realized it was absolute madness...lol is that what reality is...a crazy dream that is just so intense we don't realize how ludicrous it is until we finally wake up and sip a cup of Joe???"-Hajee

Redemption Painting...or "Magic Sands"

A month ago...or "Once upon a time"...after a 15 mile run, I stopped by my Cousin's place and she asked if I wanted to "paint"...haven't painted in years but thought it might be fun...it was definitely therepeutic but the picture came out HORRIBLE....apparently a few family members saw it later and said "which of the kids drew this?" hahaha so I felt I had to "redeem" myself... returned to cousin's place with the sole purpose of painting a masterpiece...i painted...and painted...finished...looked at the end result... and honestly wanted to cry...it STILL sucked...Gave up...went to bed...but hardly slept because I couldnt' get the suckiness of the painting out of my head....woke up first thing in the morning and blacked out the bottom (where I had put a small park and 2 aliens kissing...yeah...don't ask) and just made some abstract "magic sand"....yes...the painting STILL  SUCKS...but at least I now know my limitations...while I was a great artist in my former life...alas...I'll just have to stick to writing and running in this one.. ;)))

SMASH in the house...well...in MY HOUSE ;))

My LIFE IS SOOOOOO CRAZY!!!! YOU WON'T BELIEVE THIS!!! I get a call OUT OF NOWHERE TODAY...who is it?  One of the Directors/Managers I spoke to from SMASH who shot at the apartment next door to me a few weeks ago...

He asked me to house some of the actors "like a green room" in my apartment later today until midnight and they'll PAY ME STRAIGHT OUT!!! Ahhh! lol SO WEIRD...of course I said YES...I'll post pics!! lol  Even Odder is the amount I'll be paid is EXACTLY how much I needed to raise to pay for my trip to London next month to go to the 2012 British Writers Awards where my childrens book is a finalist!!!  How amazing is the universe???

Field of Dreams

When I see this I think "Field of Dreams"...when I was a child someone told me that if you blew these and made a wish...it would come true.... I blew a heck of a lot of these...a LOT...

Blurry New York

Very interesting evening...biked to the heart of LIC to meet a stranger...first person from Finland (I honestly thought the place didn't really exist  up until now...weird but true) and an artist so you know I had fun lol but felt a bit like I was walking in a dream...the city is like a whole nother place...subways sealed, gas stations either out of order or with lines of cabs that wrap around the block for a mile, TONS of people on the pulaski pedestrian bridge and cars piled up because mass tran is still not reliable...as USUAL got stopped while with my new friend by a few people asking for directions (REALLY???  Do I look like I know where I am?  I really need to work on looking a bit more ditzy apparently) and the toll booths below the bridge were completely barren...felt like what the world would look like after one of those armaggedon 2012 movies...but amazing how adaptable people are...you either figure out a way, keep moving or get left behind...

Hide under my Bed and Cry or....Run in the Eye of the Hurricane?

Still stuck indoors because of Sandy...why such a cute name for such an ugly Hurricane?  Anywho, internet was off the entire morning and I finally got annoyed enough to actually consider a short run in the eye of the storm...

That's right...here were my choices: A)Hide under my Bed and Cry or....B)Run in the Eye of the  Hurricane?

Before I could decide, the universe (as usual) became annoyed with my brashness and just 1 minute later my internet connection came back to life.  SO I guess I have to choose C. Watch Netflix and ignore the howling winds and world in turmoil outside...

Okay...is it just me or has anyone noticed that people are being EXTRA nice today...I honest to God don't know if I'm in some candid camera Liberty Mutual commercial or the twilight zone...maybe the planets are perfectly aligned for a universal good mood boost or something...I went to run some errands, held the store door for two elderly women and from that point onward had strangers bending over backwards for me, smiles galore, at the bank one of the employees held not one but TWO doors for me (THEY NEVER DO THAT), the poor guy whos car door I scratched when he opened the door abruptly (nearly killed me on my bike btw) did not scream, yell or flip the bird but seemed okay with it (or at least thats what I want to think...had my headphones on so not ENTIRELY sure thats what really happened lol) but really....overall....weird but NICE vibe going around...good job PEOPLE! (repeats for emphasis) Good Job!

Carrying a Metrocard during a run is for WIMPS, pass it on! ;)

I NEVER bring my Metrocard with me during a long run because I'm slightly masochistic and PRE-RUN me doesn't want to allow POST-RUN me to wimp out... is that weird???

So weird...just a week or so after waking up with the desire to breathe new life into Tweetadopplin I receive an email stating Tweetadopplin was made a finalist for the British Writers Awards!  Sooooo excited about the possibilities and the potential trip to the UK for the first time ever!!!  Yipppeeeee!!!

New Life for Maria Fly-Feeder...

Woke up with a spark of inspiration two mornings ago...  Amidst ALL the odd ideas and new  ideas swirling in my head I could not quiet the urge to breathe new life into TWEETADOPPLIN.  I wrote this book when I was just 13 and it is still evolving...  I had to make some drastic changes to the book and had my sister read it to my niece as a test subject.  Received news that she LOVED it and had asked for her to read it five more times!  Hopefully this will be a story and a book series that other children across the world will come to love just as much.  Time will tell...it always does...

Love Hard or Die Slow...

Deep...DEEP... inside I can't help but feel that LOVE is an extreme case of "kill or be killed"...guess that's why I'm "single" eh? I can't help but look around me and see a striking pattern...and well....(clearing throat) if I have to choose between being the badass bad guy or the victim...well...you know which I'd pick right??? lol ;)))

My Super Spartan Race 2013

Not sure what I got myself into THIS time...

Anyone who TRULY knows me...knows that I cannot back down from 2 things.  1. A Challenge and 2. A Deal.

With that said...I have officially signed up for a SUPER SPARTAN race in 2013...  Yes..that's right...MUD, WATER, FIRE, ELECTRICAL SHOCK, MILITARY STYLE OBSTACLES and God knows what else.  Pure INSANITY...but well...that's my sort of thing!  Pray for me!!! hahaha!
